Domingos Neto, PhD
„Peer-Bonding“: Bonding Practice for Bonding Therpeutists
Domingos Neto is a psychiatrist having contributed to major fields: Emotional Psychotherapy and Substance Abuse Treatment.
Since 25 years, he is Visiting Assistant and Visiting Professor at the Chair of Psychiatry and Mental Health of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Lisbon:
He introduced Bonding and Emotional Psychotherapy in Portugal in 1988 for outpatient and inpatient treatment of Emotional Disorders.
He has been the Director of the Drug Prophylaxis Study Centre (5 years), where he introduced Emotional Psychotherapy, and of the Regional Centre of Alcohology of The South of Portugal, for another 12 years. He is founding member of the Portuguese Association of Emotional and Bonding Psychotherapy, and the current President of the European Society of Bonding Psychotherapy.
He has published 65 articles and four books on subjects of psychiatry, alcohol, drugs and Emotional Psychotherapy.

The 2016 European conference seeks to explore the aspects of patient-therapist transference relations in the context of body psychotherapy.
Furthermore, the conference provides “open space” for visioning future opportunities and roadmaps for the Bonding Psychotherapy.
Call for Papers
Papers for the 1 ¼ h Saturday workshops from 11:15 – 12:30 are welcomed!
Please submit papers / proposals to the conference chair / secretariat. It should contain a title and a ca. 150-word abstract.
Hans-Joachim Maaz, PhD (Germany)
Hans-Joachim Maaz is a creative and prolific contributor to the field of body psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychoanalysis as well as socio-political topics. He is author of many books.
After his medical studies at the university of Halle he acquired the specialities Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. From 1980 – 2008 he was director of the Diaconic Hospital for Psychosomatic in Halle. He developed body-oriented and psychoanalytic therapy forms, with a focus upon group-psychotherapy.
